What Makes Keywords

Good Fit for Your Niche Site?

We all know how to research keywords. Why pay someone else for it?

The answer is-

We often can’t check boxes that we should. Have a look-

Competition At Its Lowest

As per the merit of your domain, we’ll find keywords that have at least 5 results in SERP that can be outranked by your website.

We will assess the weight and authoritativeness of your domain beforehand.

Right Intent

Your content website can’t rank for keywords with any random intent. It has to be one of these four-

Evergreen Relevance

Good search volume doesn’t always indicate the relevance of the topic or product.

Therefore, we cross-check the keyword topics manually so that you can expect decent traffic once you rank.

Maximum Coverage

We broaden up keyword coverages and cluster keyword groups accordingly.

What we mean is, instead of targeting one narrow keyword like “how many goldfish in a 10 gallon tank”, you can target all of these in a single content-

So, How Do We Research Low-fruit Keywords?

Step 1

Understand and Breakdown The Niche

Step 2

Asses Competitors for Less-crowded Sub-niches

Step 3

Prepare a Topical Map and Keywords Under The Topics

Step 4

Sort out Keywords as per coverage, relevance, and intents

Step 5

Select the low hanging fruits as per competition and search volume.

Step 6

Merge, de-clutter and clean up the keyword database.

Step 7

Cluster topic-wise, add secondary keywords and create content briefs.

Our Keywords Have 5+ Slots in SERP

By Slots, we mean forum threads, social, and other user-generated content. Also, websites that are small and have thin/irrelevant content also considered ‘Slots’.

How Depended We Are on Keyword Tools?

We use keyword tools for the early part of our process. But we are not actually ‘depended’ on keyword tools for our research. If there were no such tools, we’d still be able to do it.

But yeah, there are some tools that save us work hours. Ahrefs and Keyword Chef are two of our most used keyword tools.

How Much Do We Care About Search Volume?

We do consider search volumes, but we don’t take them for granted. As found out, the search volume of a keyword is far different than the potential audience of an article written on that topic.

The tools are not technically wrong. But what they don’t do is they don’t project the search volumes of dozens of other relevant search terms that are close or broad matches to the same keyword intent.

Therefore, to cross-check the actual audience size of a given keyword, we do a deep search analysis backed up by a proper understanding of the topic.

Once we get the result in hand, we can make a rather realistic projection of the content that will be written on this keyword.

New vs Running Niche Site: The Difference in KW Research?

For a brand new site, it’s a clean slate for us and we create a topical map within the niche. Then we find keywords with minimal competition for each topic and ask the writers to interlink among them.

However, for sites that are up and running, there is one extra first step. We need to segmentize the existing articles topic-wise, and then find topical gaps within them. Plus, we find new topics within the niche as well.

Finally, we repeat the process mentioned earlier for both of the scopes.

Do We Keep Monetization In Mind While Researching KWs?

For money keywords, of course. We check product price, availability, popularity, and good ratings in our money keywords.

For informative keywords, we prefer keywords with good product recommendation scopes(i.e. comparison or solution intent). Also, we look out for good CPC of the keyword as we believe it has a positive impact on how much Display Ad earning that particular article would get.

Is Stealing Keywords from Your Competitors A Good Idea?

Not technically. Because when you’re stealing(or getting inspired) from a competitor’s keywords, you’re inviting at least one competition. Plus, this makes you sacrifice the topical clustering as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

We usually accept Paypal, Payoneer and Wise.

It’s not possible to find low-hanging keywords in all niches. So we need to justify the niche and if needed, we might ask for expanding the niche a bit.

We usually use Ahrefs, Keyword Chef and SEMRush for keyword search volumes.

We believe that search volume is a pretty inaccurate number and barely forecasts the potential traffic if you rank at #1. However, in case of zero search volume KWs, we cluster a group of them and try to enhance the topical coverage for that article.

For the sake of ROI, we prioritize keywords that have at least 5 easy wins in SERP. This means the targetted article can replace one of these 5 results from Google’s first page.

In case your website is still in the sandbox or undergoing an algorithmic hit, the rank can be delayed. But eventually the rank potentials will be the same.

We’ll need your niche and sub-niches you’ve covered so far. For fresh websites, we’ll need just the niche.

Yeah, we can serve in both cases. For existing websites, we might need the list of articles you’ve already published.
