I am the eldest daughter in a Bengali house. So, life hasn’t always been fair to me. In fact, it has thrown some pretty big challenges that seemed daunting at the time.
However, I am lucky enough to have supportive friends and family who helped me go through it all.
There were days when it felt like every hardship was worth it. Like the time I got the Edexcel award or the moment when my father put his hand on my head and said he was proud of me.
All together life taught me that it’s all about trying your best and having faith. So, till this day I try to be independent.
That includes doing part-time jobs to pay for my own tuition fees and doing my chores to lessen the burden on my mother. I will admit that it does get hard at times. But the feeling of satisfaction makes it all worth it.
At the end of the day I know I did my best and that is why I have no regret.
